Accessibility for All

Why Connects Matters for Blind and Low Vision Visitors, Sign Language users, and

As a retired Teacher of the Blind and Visually Impaired — and now an accessibility advocate — I’m always asking a simple question:

Can a blind visitor experience this space independently?

Bloomberg Connects doesn’t solve every accessibility challenge. But when institutions use it well, it can provide:

  • Rich audio descriptions

  • Context beyond what’s printed on a wall label

  • Structured, organized access to content

  • The ability to explore from home

It gives blind and low vision visitors access to the interpretive layer of a museum — not just the physical space.

And that’s significant.

For Deaf visitors, captioned videos and transcripts increase access.
For neurodivergent visitors, self-paced exploration reduces stress.
For everyone, it adds depth.
